Practical scope guidance
Define the required result before choosing the method.
Property records, site conditions, intended reliance and requested deliverables all affect the professional work involved.
Scope around the design need
A residential grading plan, infrastructure corridor, redevelopment site and large rural property require different feature lists, density, accuracy, control and output. We review how the data will be used before choosing the capture method.
Ground, aerial and scanning methods
Conventional field observations, GNSS, robotic instruments, terrestrial scanning, UAV imagery and LiDAR can be combined where appropriate. Technology is selected for the site and required result rather than used as a substitute for survey judgment.
Deliverables project teams can use
Depending on scope, information may be delivered as plans, surfaces, orthographic imagery, CAD data, point clouds or other coordinated datasets. Required coordinate systems, formats and feature coding should be identified early.
